Figurative Surrealism
Verlune is fascinated by the naked body and our relation to it. Bodies are sacred, erotic, imprisoning, and ultimately lacking. Bodies, as she says, "tell the stories we have lived and lie about the lives our souls have lived." This collection displays Verlune's own struggles and experiences, her perceptions about the lives of others and her commentary on socio-cultural norms and taboos.
Sculpture
Verlune sculpts using natural materials such as roots, bark, rocks, etc. and recycled materials. Her sculptures are influenced by the materials she uses to create them. This collection best exemplifies her interest in biomorphism in a three-dimensional way.
Landscapes & the Abstract
Verlune has an unending reverence for the mountains and oceans, as well as what she calls, "the quiet growing things." From the infinitely small, to the infinitely vast, this collection represents her love and respect for the natural world we live in (and especially the worlds in which we cannot).
Other
Verlune has designed album covers and artwork for various live events. From sketches to digital artwork, this collection holds an eclectic assortment of Verlune's other works.
